My nemesis

And so it begins...

Hmm, it doesn't seem like Althusser will drive this one off... Debord?

Oh, the allergens. I, too, count them as a nemesis.

I have found (in the horrific pestilential air of the river valley in which I live) that what I like to call "Kroger-tin" (loratadine) taken daily does quite nicely. I got a deal on the "Kroger-tin" last fall where I spent $15 for a 6 month supply. And yes, this is why I don't believe in name brands for such things :)

Sometimes I still need to supplement the daily meds with other symptom-alleviating things (indeed, the air where I live is pestilential) but usually just that daily dose manages the misery :)

I dunno, kermit ... maybe I need the Body without Organs?

Dr Crazy, is your stuff non-drowsy? Because I have a real hard time with daily meds if they leave me drowsy and sick feeling and emptyheaded. And sometimes even the nondrowsy (supposedly) variations knock me out. Sigh.

Most of the newer antihistimines (claritin/loratadine, zyrtec/whatever its generic is) are non-drowsy meds. The older ones like benadryl are more likely to cause drowsiness. I use one of the above plus flonase, which helps with a lot of the congestion. Of course, I'm allergic to benadryl so that causes some other problems.

My doctor is trying to convince me to try a neti pot. Everyone I know who has used them swears by them, but I am still to grossed out by them to try it. Maybe one day I will get over my disgust.
