Today there were two Pottery Barn and a Williams-Sonoma box out by the recycling! I packed my dad's globe in the big WS box.
I would be thrilled, except ... I wish I were the one getting all the shiny and new and fancy things instead of just packing up all my old tired crap in the discarded empty boxes. Ah well.
Packing is crawling along. The days until I go are crawling along. Sigh. Am I really going to be able to do this? I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle the trip out there and hack it all on my own.
Sigh. I'd pack more but once again I think I am down to all the stuff I still need to use. Of course I said that just a few minutes and three boxes ago.
You finished a dissertation. Therefore, you can do ANYTHING! :) Here's hoping your trip goes smoothly.
Of course you can!!! You have your official grownup card, don't you? Well, then: there you go.
How are you doing the move? Will you need a stop-over before you get to your final destination? If so, you're always welcome at my place, although we'd need to strategize about how to handle kittehs. But seriously: if you need a resting point around my neck of the woods, you are welcome!
Ooh, wouldn't it be cool if when you opened the boxes they were suddenly full of shiny new stuff? :) Just a nice dream for a Saturday morning.
Good luck with it all!
Do you have a friend who can do the drive with you? That would make it easier.
But otherwise, of course you can manage this yourself. Compared to writing a dissertation, moving is just physical labor.
I'll second Dr. C's offer. If you're driving through the northern midwest, stop here!
Conversely, if you're going to or through the Deep South, let me know!
You could make a really windy trip and see both of us!
