Make sure that your car's A/C works! Just before I moved to RNC, driving cross-country, I discovered that my A/C had burned out. While a PITA, it was good that I found it out before I left Grad City rather than on the road to RNC.And hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
It's interesting, but you learn to live with it. FWIW, I find a humid 90 in London to be hotter than 100 in CA...
Drink hot tea. That's what I did in Egypt, which was very, very hot, but also very, very dry (a relief, since I generally don't like hot weather, but am more familiar with the hot-and-muggy kind). Actually, in the U.S., where you don't have to worry about whether the water has been thoroughly boiled, you could drink iced tea. Second checking out the a/c in the car before leaving, but also be prepared in case it stops working on the way (in other words, carry at least plenty of water).
