Not so cute:
Cute:
Cute and not cute (swamp cooler):
And backyard cute:
The problem is that with hundreds and hundreds of houses on the market now, I could pick any age, size, and style house I want in a variety of neighborhoods. Too many options! No clue what I want! Stymied by indecision! And I really really didn't feel like finishing up my grading this weekend, le sigh. Grab a pile of exams, would you? The dog is providing no help at all.

Oh, fun!
Have you started going to open houses, and starting a list of must haves and must not haves?
The next thing is to visit a credit union or bank and talk to a loan office about your financials, and figure out if you can afford to buy, and if it makes sense for you now, and then if so, what sort of budget makes sense. And then, if it all seems right, figure out and get "pre-approved" for a mortgage.
And when all is said and done, tell your realtor that you're looking for something cheaper than your pre-approval, because houses ALWAYS end up being more expensive!
Totally fun, but I don't think I am there yet! This is the rental my friend is moving out of as soon as she gets back (I am dogsitting).
So far I think I do not like swamp coolers.
Someone in my department had the realator showing them houses for over a year before they found something they liked, so I think picking her brain about neighborhoods and houses should be the next step.
And I haven't been through a July here yet, so all of this planning to stick around might be premature!!!
